Group Sessions/Mommy and Me Feeding Workshops

We are happy to announce the launch of the “Munch Buddies” feeding workshops for parents and their little eaters. Let us set you up for a successful journey into the world of solids! We offer the following options to fit your and your child’s needs:

Pre-feeding consultation (no infants attending this session) is designed for the new mommies and caregivers who need support and professional guidance BEFORE starting their adventures with solids.

Each 60-minute professional consultation lead by an experienced speech-language pathologist/feeding therapist and covers the following topics:

  • Prerequisites to starting solids
  • Setting you and your baby up for success (including some “magic tricks” from our own mom and feeding therapist)
  • Purees vs baby led weaning: choosing your own path
  • Basics of baby nutrition
  • Breastfeeding and starting solids: how to find the balance between the two? how much is not too much?
  • Creating your own feeding schedule: How often and how much to offer?
  • Homemade vs store bought purees/ reading the labels
  • Reflux babies: Will solids help with the reflux?
  • Allergies and how to be safe around foods
  • All the necessary equipment: bibs, highchairs, utensils, bottles, etc.
  • Q&A session

“First Bites” (6-12 months) are engaging, hands-on 45-minute sessions with your infant taking an active part in the session. Babies and caregivers, guided by a professional feeding expert, will interact with food and learn about key mealtime strategies to set children up for success.

Note: Two caregivers maximum present per infant. All utensils and foods provided by the family based on your baby’s nutritional needs, possible allergies, restrictions, etc.

Munch Buddies ( ideal for picky eaters, 2-3 years of age) caregivers participate in an education session led by a professional feeding expert on improving mealtime behaviors while children play with our staff. Then, caregivers and the therapist practice strategies for mealtime behaviors. Caregivers will receive individualized support for their mealtime needs.

Food Science Club (ages 4-6 ) gets children to use scientific food exploration techniques, including their FIVE senses, to learn to trust and gradually enjoy new foods they refuse to try at home. Each session is a mini project with lots of engagement and trialing of a variety of target foods. Watch your children change their entire perspective on food, as they become more curious and “open” to trying new food items through play and hands-on experiments.

Little Chefs (ages 6-10) Immerse your child in the world of food through cooking projects, learning to read food labels, making healthy food choices, and nutritional education.

Back-to-school, a 4-week program of feeding sessions to get your school-aged child back on a healthy feeding track (planning lunch foods, creating a perfectly balanced meal plan, etc.)
